Large language models (LLMs) have taken the tech world by storm, being able to hold conversations, generate texts, and translate languages, comprehend images, and much more. But OpenAI’s ChatGPT isn’t the only player in the generative artificial intelligence game. Anthropic, a research outfit founded by former OpenAI researchers, has been a notable contender with its version, called Claude, which is now available as a free iOS app.
Claude has garnered attention for its focus on factual accuracy and for generating fewer hallucinations (fabricated information) in long-form content creation compared to ChatGPT. In fact, the Claude 3 model made headlines in March for surpassing GPT-4 in tackling sophisticated tasks, being more efficient, and its affordability.

Previously accessible only through a web interface, the Claude chatbot is now available at the fingertips of iPhone and iPad users. Through an intuitive user experience, this free app aims to capably assist users in a variety of tasks—from overcoming writer’s block with creative text generation to tackling complex analytical queries with the help of its knowledge and reasoning capabilities.
Designed for on-the-go productivity, the Claude iOS app goes beyond simply providing instant answers. Users can engage in natural conversations with Claude, leveraging its ability to understand context and respond accordingly so it can help you draft an email, summarize a meeting, or streamline routine tasks. The app can also analyze photos and files.

Building upon its success, Anthropic has now rolled out a Team plan, priced at US$30 a month, specifically tailored to enhance productivity within organizations. Here, teams can tap into the advanced capabilities of the Claude 3 model family.
You can download the new Claude app via the Apple App Store.
