Margot Robbie is starring as a fictional Fox News employee with a politically conservative background in her latest film, Bombshell. The role of Kayla also grows up Evangelical in Florida, a huge contrast from her childhood in Australia’s Gold Coast.

To research for her role, the 29-year-old told Variety that she went undercover and created a fake Twitter account to observe life in the eyes of “young millennial conservative girls” to comprehend how they think and interact online.

Bombshell follows Charlize Theron, who plays Megyn Kelly, and Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson, who accuses the former Fox News CEO Roger Alies (John Lithgow) of sexual harassment.

Robbie’s character is an ambitious employee of the news network who hopes to make it on air. However, her dreams fall apart when she encounters Alies and gets sexually harassed.

Unfortunately, Robbie’s undercover Twitter account handle is unknown, but you can watch how her research panned out by viewing the Bombshell trailer below.
