Billboard’s Rock Chart Gets Dissed, And Imagine Dragons Leader Reacts With Humor

Billboard shared its list of rock songs from the decade, but rock enthusiasts were not too thrilled about the results. The top three tracks were dominated by Imagine Dragons’ Thunder, Believer and Radioactive.
Panic! At The Disco took the fourth place with High Hopes, while Twenty One Pilots snatched the sixth, ninth and tenth place with Heathens, Ride and Stressed Out respectively.
However, music fans did not consider these tracks to belong to the rock genre. Some claimed they were “alternative,” while others just wanted everyone to “stop calling pop bands with guitars rock [music].”
As animosity gathered towards the list and Imagine Dragons, who clinched the top ranks, the band’s frontman Dan Reynolds gave a—sort of—empathetic response to the rock purists.
“Got on Twitter to find all the slander and all the love,” he wrote, before thanking listeners for the “And yeah, I’d probably be mad if it wasn’t my band but it is my band,” he added before laughing it off.
