Burger King Gives Free Whoppers To Bronx For Enduring ‘Joker Stairs’ Tourists

Residents of the Bronx have been overwhelmed with tourists after the steps that connected Shakespeare and Anderson Avenues were made famous in Joker.
Many moviegoers flocked to the scene, now nicknamed as “Joker Stairs,” where Joaquin Phoenix’s villain broke out a couple of dance moves. The trend had locals feeling as though their personal space had been invaded.
Now, Burger King is looking out for disgruntled Bronx residents with a new offer exclusive to them. Locals who order from the fast food chain through delivery service Uber Eats are entitled to receive a free Whopper with the code “KINGSTAIRS.”
“Dear Bronx, we know clowns can be annoying,” the ad reads, subtly poking fun at McDonald’s Ronald McDonald, as well. “But don’t worry. If you live in the Bronx, use the code ‘KINGSTAIRS’ on Uber Eats to get a free Whopper. And put on a happy face.”
The promotion runs until 12 January 2020.
