White House’s ‘First Snow Of The Year’ Photo Prompts Blizzard Of Confusion

The White House posted an unusual tweet last Sunday that celebrated the “first snow of the year.”
This left Twitter users baffled, as local weather reports in Washington, DC showed that temperatures have been warm of late, and that there is little sign of snow at all.
In fact, local temperatures hit a high of 70 degrees Fahrenheit that Sunday afternoon and evening.
The tweet prompted a snowball of jokes from Twitter users, who pointed out the notable temperature spike.
“What you’re seeing is the ashes of the Constitution,” one user teased. “The daytime high in DC today was 68F. I was wearing shorts this afternoon. When you sent out this tweet, it was still 20+ degrees too warm for snow,” another user explained.
However, according to Newsweek, the White House shared the snap to its official Flickr account last Sunday with its caption stating that the photo was captured by photographer Tia Dufour on Tuesday, 7 January 2020.
Its tweet, however, did not reflect this detail, hence the confusion.
