Bryan Cranston Relives ‘The Shining’ In Mountain Dew’s Super Bowl Commercial

Bryan Cranston and Tracee Ellis Ross star in the latest Mountain Dew Super Bowl ad as Jack and Wendy Torrance from cult classic flick The Shining.
Previously, the company released a teaser video mimicking the 1980 horror film’s typewriting scene. The new ad recreates the iconic door scene, where Jack attempts to break down the door with an ax to kill his family.
Cranston creepily cuts a hole in the door and recites the signature line with a twist. “Here’s Mountain Dew Zero,” he says. The screaming Ross behind the door stops in her tracks and confesses, “I am thirsty,” before grabbing the bottle from him.
The spot manages to promote Mountain Dew’s Zero Sugar drink in a hilarious yet terrifying manner. However, the most disturbing scene rests at the end where Cranston is dressed as the twins in blue dresses from the film.
