No, your life isn’t entirely a lie. James Corden finally reacted to the Carpool Karaoke furor online, and it turns out that the talk show host actually drives his car in the segment, except for the few times when it was deemed unsafe.
The viral video, which showed Corden and Justin Bieber in a car being towed, left many feeling betrayed as they realized the host was not actually manning the vehicle.
Finally, Corden opened up about the internet frenzy on The Late Late Show With James Corden, and called “fake news” on the internet users accusing him of never driving the vehicle during the Carpool Karaoke series.
Corden mentioned that it was a bit of a “safety issue” when it came to filming the episode with Bieber, and confessed, “Frankly, I kept getting lost in his eyes.” He then began breaking down all the myths of a late-night talk show and listed out the times he never drove the car, which summed up to five episodes.
The episodes with Meghan Trainor, Migos, Cardi B, Chance the Rapper, and the recent appearance of Justin Bieber are all the times Corden never pulled the steering wheel. He also released an extensive lineup of episodes where he actually drove the car.
“I am nothing, if not a man of integrity,” he declared before announcing the third series of Carpool Karaoke on Apple TV. The full confession can be found below.
