Google Apologizes For Sending Private Videos In Google Photos To Strangers

Google has confirmed a bug that sent users’ private videos in Google Photos to strangers.
Google introduced Google Photos to let users back up their photos and videos. It also offers a feature called Google Takeout that gives people control over personal data that is being stored on Google, as well as the option to download the information.
However, CNBC reported that when some users tried to download their content, they were surprised to discover videos that were uploaded by strangers in the files.
The tech giant has been sending out emails to warn users about the bug, which affected backups downloaded between 21 and 25 November 2019. A Google spokesperson told CNBC that backups made during that period might also be incomplete.
Google says that the issue has been fixed, and has apologized for the mishap. 9to5Google noted that only 0.01 percent of Google Photos users were affected.
