Americans Are Most Confident They’re Good At Cooking This Meal

If you’re looking to impress someone by putting together a meal, you might have to expand your cooking repertoire and cook something else. This is because you’ll probably both have the “best” version of the same dish, just like how everyone thinks their chocolate chip cookies are better than others’.
A survey conducted by OnePoll for Mazola Corn Oil reveals that Americans are most confident cooking breakfast.
Breaking it down, subjects said they could easily prepare the following five dishes without a recipe: eggs over easy (49 percent); scrambled eggs (46 percent); hard-boiled eggs (44 percent); poached eggs (44 percent); french toast (41 percent).
As for cooking utensils they were most intimidated by, 33-percent of respondents said they typically stayed away from using a spatula, while 30 percent were afraid to work with whisks and measuring cups. A quarter were anxious about using a food processor.
If you’re hoping to incorporate more home-cooked meals in your diet, the good news is the latest cooking aspiration of Americans is totally manageable. 42-percent of participants declared they most wished to master air-frying.
But don’t forget your shopping list—according to the study, the average American forgets four ingredients each month when cooking.
