Facebook’s Social Media Accounts On Twitter & Instagram Have Been Hacked

Facebook’s social media accounts fell victim to a cyber attack by a group of hackers on Friday.
The group, called OurMine, took over Facebook and Messenger’s Instagram and Twitter accounts that afternoon to reveal the social networks’ cyber vulnerabilities. “Even Facebook is hackable,” it declared.
The team infiltrated Facebook and Messenger’s Instagram accounts to upload a picture of its logo, as well as took to Facebook’s Twitter account to post, “Hi, we are OurMine. Well, even Facebook is hackable but at least their security is better [than] Twitter.”
The accounts have now been returned to the rightful owners.
Twitter confirmed in a statement, via the BBC, that the company “locked the compromised accounts” as soon as it was alerted of the attack.
Facebook’s pages on its own platform were not subjected to the hack.
