A man from the Indian village of Telangana, near Hyderabad, worships a six-foot statue in the likeness of Donald Trump, and makes daily prayers to the president in his home.
Bussa Krishna told local news agency Asian News International that Trump had visited him in his dream four years ago, which led him to erect the life-sized idol in less than a month with the help of 15 laborers.
The Trump sculpture is adorned with red sindoor powder on the forehead, a Hindu religious mark, and flower garlands around his neck.
His daily Hindu prayer rituals for Trump have earned him the title as “Trump Krishna” by locals. The villagers, however, have no problem with his devotion to the US president, and in fact appreciate his dedication.
“Instead of praying to other gods, I started praying to him,” Krishna described. “My love for him has transformed into reverence.”
