Kobe Bryant ‘Soars To The Heavens’ On Los Angeles Magazine’s Commemorative Cover
Los Angeles Magazine remembers the late Kobe Bryant on its latest commemorative issue.
Together with creative agency Walrus, the publication created a cover painted in black, highlighting Bryant leaping towards the basket. The magazine’s logo is faded into the background, placing Bryant under the spotlight with his striking yellow and purple Lakers number 8 jersey.
Speaking about the cover, Walrus CCO Deacon Webster said the team wanted to use a lot of negative space in order to portray Bryant—in bright yellow—“soaring up into the heavens.”
The magazine’s editor Maer Rosha and creative director Ada Guerin agreed that the “image alone said all that needed to be said.”
