Teenage activist Greta Thunberg has responded to a vulgar cartoon of her that circulated a few days ago. She commented that the sexual drawing bearing the name of a Canadian oil company is a sign of desperation that “shows we are winning.”
According to HuffPost, the sexual illustration shows a naked female from the back with the word “Greta,” and a man’s hands pulling her braids. It also features the logo of X-Site Energy Services, an oilfield company in Alberta, Canada.
The company’s general manager Doug Sparrow said it has
nothing to do with the offending graphic, and that the illustration was created by a third party.
HuffPost reported that an oil worker received the drawing in the form of a sticker at a job site.
Canada’s Minister of Culture Lela Sharon Aheer described the sticker as “deplorable.”
“The graphic in the article is completely deplorable, unacceptable and degrading,” she tweeted. “This is not what our province stands for. Whoever is responsible should be ashamed and apologize immediately.”
