Ancestry.com Will Now Trace Your Beginnings Back To Suffrage History

Ancestry.com has unveiled a ‘Make Them Count’ campaign that lets people learn and find family ties with historically prominent women. The movement delves into an era when suffragists and abolitionists battled for equal rights.
The campaign explains how those who fought in the past had made radical changes noticeable today.
Stories were collated through information given by descendants of voters’ rights advocates, allowing the website to combine both prominent and lesser-known stories of the past.
You can thus now share the names of your grandparents, and uncover where they stood in American history back in the late 1800s to mid-1900s.
“Learning our ancestors’ stories gives them power. It’s very possible your great-great-grandmother couldn’t vote. You can, and it's because of the women who fought for your rights,” Jennifer Utley, director of research at Ancestry said in a statement.
