Gwyneth Paltrow has been denounced for sharing an untimely selfie on the Instagram account of her health and wellness brand Goop last Friday.
Paltrow shared a shot of herself dressed in a casual outfit from G.Label, which costs a whopping US$875. “Most days you’ll find GP wearing G.Label with a pair of sneakers—which is one reason we make it an annual tradition to put together a fresh sneaker guide each year,” she wrote in the caption.
The post, however, has been branded “tone-deaf” as many feel Paltrow was “irresponsible” for promoting her outfit in the midst of the
coronavirus pandemic.
Other Instagram users suggest that Paltrow should have used her platform to spread awareness and educate about health, instead of selling her expensive outfit when people in different countries are struggling to purchase day-to-day supplies.
The post has been taken down from Goop’s Instagram account, though there is still no word from the company.
