Samsung Is Offering Free Galaxy Sanitizing Service In 19 Countries, More To Come

People are reminded more than ever to wash their hands and keep their phones clean, as the devices touch just about every surface near you in public.
To help contain the spread of bacteria and germs during the coronavirus outbreak, Samsung is offering a free Galaxy Sanitizing Service in 19 countries by way of the official Samsung Service Center and Experience Stores. Products entitled to the program extend to the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds, in addition to Galaxy smartphones, as reported by SAM Mobile.
Samsung will disinfect the gadgets using UV-C light and without harsh cleaning chemicals, which it has said can scratch your screen or erode its fingerprint-free, smudge-free coating.
Since the UV-C devices deployed for the service are supplied by third parties, Samsung has tested them to verify that they won’t affect phones’ performance.
One note worth mentioning is that results from the cleaning service may vary, and not all bacteria, germs and viruses will be killed. Additionally, the tech giant warns that while the sanitizing devices it uses won’t dwindle performance, it can’t say the same if you were to use an unauthorized variation at home.
The Galaxy Sanitizing Service are available in 19 countries, free-of-charge. These comprise: Argentina; Chile; Croatia; Denmark; Finland; Japan; Malaysia, New Zealand; Norway; Pakistan; Peru; Poland; Russia; South Korea; Spain; Sweden; United States; Ukraine; Vietnam.
It will soon roll out in 25 more markets: Australia; Austria; Canada; Czechia; France; Greece; Hong Kong; Hungary; India; Indonesia; Israel; Italy; Jordan; Kazakhstan; Latvia; Mexico; the Netherlands; Panama; the Philippines; Romania; Singapore; Taiwan; Thailand; the United Arab Emirates; United Kingdom.
