Coronavirus Establishes The Longest Passenger Flight In The World

As travel plans get canceled and restrictions are put into place to contain the contagion of COVID-19, one plane wafted at lengths on air.
French airline Air Tahiti Nui broke the record for the longest-ever scheduled passenger flight in terms of distance on 14 March, traveling 9,765 miles from Papeete in Tahiti, French Polynesia all the way to the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, as reported by CNN Travel.
The milestone was a result of US travel constraints enforced in the light of the novel coronavirus spread, and superseded previous record holder Singapore Airlines, which transited between Singapore and Newark over a distance of 9,534 miles.
Flight TN064 is normally supposed to stop over at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) so passengers can pass through US Customs and Border Protection, but the airport’s lockdown meant that the flight would go on without intervals.
The one-off journey spanned just under 16 hours, departing from Papeete airport at 3am local time on 14 March and reaching Paris at 6.30am local time on March 15.
