TikTokers Are Literally Sleeping On The Job And Making Money From It

A new wave has hit TikTok, which sees its users streaming themselves sleeping. “But why?” you might ask. Well, it turns out, this trend appears to generate not only followers, but real cash, as well.
18-year-old TikToker Brian Hector shared with the Economic Times that he has made money while live-streaming in his slumber. TikTok users would buy in-app coins to send gifts to users, which can be transferred into TikTok diamonds and switched into money through PayPal.
“I woke up the next morning and ended the [live stream] and went over to my mom and was like, ‘Mom, I literally just made money falling asleep,’” he told the publication.
Sleep-streamers are announcing their bedtimes ahead of schedule to rally crowds to join their snooze spectacles. Now that people are practicing self-isolation amid the coronavirus spread, this could be a good idea for some passive income on the side.
There is a trend on TikTok where people livestream themselves sleeping to gain followers.
