NYC Mayor Calls Elon Musk To Make Ventilators Due To Shortage In COVID-19 Crisis

New York City’s Mayor Bill de Blasio wants Elon Musk’s help in manufacturing ventilators to alleviate a shortage in hospitals across the city.
It first started with an interaction between the Tesla boss and Nate Silver, the author and editor-in-chief of FiveThirtyEight, on Twitter. Musk had claimed that Tesla “would make ventilators if there is a shortage.”
“There’s a shortage now, how many ventilators [are] you making?” Silver responded to Musk, who then questioned the hospitals in need of ventilators at the moment.
This led to the request by De Blasio, who described that the city would require thousands in the coming weeks. “We’re getting them as fast as we can but we could use your help!” the Mayor urged Musk.
