The Met’s Postponed Gala Will Proceed Virtually By Online High Fashion Community

Though the Met Gala has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the internet has other plans to carry out the iconic event virtually. On 4 May 2020, members of the High Fashion Twitter community will gather to attend a digital Met Ball.
The collective announced that this year, everyone is invited to the High Fashion Twitter Met Gala. The event extends to “fashion enthusiasts from around the world to share and express their unique creative visions without real-world inhibitions.”
The online group on Twitter would often come together to discuss noteworthy looks on the Met Gala’s red carpet. This year, however, there will be a lineup of challenges for attendees to showcase the outfits they would have worn for the fashion event.
In similar fashion, players of The Sims have been showing off their fashion looks through makeshift runways in the game since they haven’t been able to flaunt their outfits outside, and are throwing their own Met Gala.
