Women’s Aid Showcases Barren Streets Amid COVID-19 To Address Domestic Abuse

While many around the world are picking up new hobbies and honing their skills as they stay indoors to fend off COVID-19, some people do not have the privilege of working on self-improvement.
Troubling domestic lives make it difficult for some to cherish this time indoors. According to Campaign, startling data by domestic-abuse charities shows a rise in reports since governments began imposing lockdowns, as families are now spending more time with their abusers behind closed doors.
A haunting ad by creative strategy consultancy Engine Group UK for the Women’s Aid Federation of England showcases emptied-out streets across the UK amid its lockdown.
“Domestic abusers are no longer walking among us,” the organization describes in the video. “For thousands of women and children right now, home is anything but safe.”
