Emergency Funds For Creatives Who Are Affected By The COVID-19 Crisis

It’s a trying time for creatives, since many are unable to secure adequate finances during the coronavirus outbreak. Freelancers are getting less gigs during this recession, and the closures of cultural institutions means some professionals are left without work.
Thankfully, some organizations are offering emergency funds to support artists, photographers, curators, and other creative professionals whose finances have been hit by the COVID-19 crisis. My Modern Met has compiled 10 grants covering creatives of various disciplines. Check out some of them.
Arts Leaders of Color Emergency Fund
The Arts Administrators of Color Network is issuing US$200 grants to artists and administrators in the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community in the US to support them during this difficult period. Submissions are open on a first-come-first-served basis here.
Foundation for Contemporary Arts COVID-19 Relief Fund
US artists, or those living in US territories, who specialize in modern, experimental art can apply for a one-time US$1,000 fund by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts if they can establish that their displays were canceled or postponed as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. Artists can file for the grant until December 2020.
Freelancers Relief Fund
Freelancers from the US who have worked remotely for at least a year can apply for financial aid from the Freelancers Union of up to US$1,000 per household if they have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Photographer Fund
Photography support firm Format has launched The Photographer Fund, offering up to US$500 to self-employed photographers who require financial help during the crisis. Apply here.
