Ever since Netflix’sTiger King: Murder, Madness, and Mayhem came out, many have been curious about the current state of the documentary’s stars, including that of the Tiger King himself, Joe Exotic.
Now, Netflix has released an eighth episode called The Tiger King and I, which runs for 40 minutes. It is hosted by actor Joel McHale, who is shown speaking to several familiar faces from the series.
Since everyone is staying at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, the episode was filmed from the homes of the individual castmates through video calls.
If you have watched the whole series, you will know that Exotic is still serving time in prison, so he did not appear onscreen for an update. His rival, Carole Baskin, purportedly wasn’t requested, although a representative stated that she wouldn’t have taken part in it anyway, per CNET.
However, zookeeper Erik Cowie, current zoo owners Jeff and Lauren Lowe, zoo manager John Reinke, animal keeper Kelci “Saff” Saffery, Exotic’s campaign manager Josh Dial, and Joe Exotic TV producer Rick Kirkham are all featured in the after-show episode to share stories with McHale.
“This is the notoriety and fame that [Exotic] always wanted,” Lowe told at one point. “And it's pretty ironic that now he’s stuck in a cage and can't even enjoy it.”
The bonus episode of Tiger King: Murder, Madness, and Mayhem is now available on Netflix.
