David Bowie Fans Get First Look At ‘Stardust’ Biopic As Trailer Drops Online

The first clip for the David Bowie biopic Stardust has dropped online.
The film follows the reputed musician on his first trip to the US back in 1971, which was believed to have inspired his alter-ego Ziggy Stardust.
The new footage shows Bowie (played by Johnny Flynn) asking publicist Ron Oberman (Marc Maron) whether his record label will support the release of his record in the US.
Oberman replies, “I think you’re going to be the biggest goddamn star in America.” Bowie then questions if Oberman could “sell him,” to which the publicist responds, “Hell yeah, I do. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a minority to one but all it takes is a believer to change the world and we’ve got two. If you don’t we’re really f**ked.”
The movie also stars Jena Malone as Bowie’s first wife, Angie.
Stardust is directed by Emmy awardwinner Gabriel Range. Variety reports that Bowie’s son, Duncan Jones, insisted that his family had no involvement in the making of the film.
Stardust was scheduled to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this April, but was postponed due to the coronavirus crisis. It will be aired on a private online portal, and arrive in theaters later this year.
