Ex-White House Secretary Memed For Buying Bootleg PS4 Controller & Blaming China

There’s the Nintendo Switch’s distant relative, “Namica Smitch,” and there’s the “P4” controller. Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, unfortunately, bought that, and he’s mad at China for the purchase.
Fleischer, who served as press secretary during George W. Bush’s presidency, aired his grievances about the knockoff PlayStation 4 controller he had bought from Amazon on Twitter.
“Another reason to distrust China: we bought my kids a PS4 and then got a second controller from Amazon,” he tweeted. “The controller was made in China, of course—and it doesn’t work. It never worked. It’s junk.”
Social media users were amused by the incident, seeing as how the controller by retailer CHASDI is evidently one of many bootleg products available on Amazon. First of all, the button designs are way off. Plus, the icon in the middle of the gadget reads “P4.”
“BREAKING: Area Man Who Cheaped Out on Third-Party Controller Blames Someone Else For His Being Cheap,” joked political host Brian Tyler Cohen.
One Twitter user noted that original PS4 controllers also come with a “Made in China” tag, so the nation isn’t completely to blame for the hilarious buy.
Fleischer promptly deleted his rant, but not before internet users managed to save the receipts.
