CNN Indonesia Apologizes For Using South Korean Actor Photo In Kim Jong-Un Story

CNN Indonesia has issued an apology for using a photo of a South Korean actor while covering a story on North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The publication ran a story about Kim, who is reported to be in critical condition. While the news anchor was updating viewers about his supposed health, a photo of the North Korean leader was placed next to Captain Ri Jeong-hyeok, a fictional character played by South Korean actor Hyun Bin, from Netflix’s drama series Crash Landing on You.
Crash Landing on You is a Korean drama series that follows a story of a South Korean conglomerate heiress who crash-lands in North Korea after a paragliding incident. She encounters Captain Ro Jeong-hyeok, who comes from a powerful North Korean family.
CNN Indonesia noticed the mishap and quickly apologized for the “fatal mistake” on the news program. “The news package was on the issues surrounding Kim Jong-un, who was reportedly in critical condition, which has no relation to the Captain Ri character in the Korean drama series,” the news anchor updated. “This error was not intentional, and we apologize for this mistake.”
