Since his departure from the royal family, Prince Harry has finally announced what he had been covertly working on before becoming a member of the public.
The project, HeadFIT, is a mental wellness tool created for veterans and military members, though Harry—who wishes to be referred to only by his first name—assures that everyone can benefit from its services.
The program was first
announced back in 2017, and is finally available three years later in partnership with the Royal Foundation’s
Heads Together program, Britain’s Ministry of Defense, and King’s College London.
“Today when we talk about fitness, we don’t just mean how fast you can run or how much weight you can carry,” Harry, who served a decade in the British army, said in the video on
HeadFIT’s website. “This is about mental fitness, strength and resilience, not just while wearing a uniform, but for the rest of your life,” he continued.
The website will offer visitors specific services from a selection of four mental fitness goals: de-stress, drive, confidence, and mood. The resources arrive in the form of videos, audio, and reading materials for more awareness about mental wellness.
Though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped away from the Royal Foundation last year, Kensington Palace stated that both couples will work together in the projects under the foundation, including the ones for
Heads Together, per
HuffPost.
Heads Together’s latest campaign features a new mental health series,
60 Second Support, to offer helpful minute-long tips on maintaining mental wellbeing during the
coronavirus pandemic.
