The Pandemic Crisis Services Coalition has launched a new website to offer mental health support to those struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.
According to Rolling Stone, psychiatric hospitals are limiting their capacities to adhere to government’s social distancing measures. It is still important to be aware of the available mental health services especially during the pandemic, and the new website thus aims to offer emotional and mental support by listing out crisis services that are searchable by state.
Users can opt for their preferred contact method and support type according to several topics and categories. Topics include bullying, gambling, parenting and substance abuse, while categories narrow demographics down to descriptors like gender, veteran status, age, and sexuality.
Users can also reach out to various helplines and community centers provided on the website, which will connect them with trained volunteers and staff to offer them resources and link them with local mental health providers.
The website also has blog posts on managing mental health, tips on helping loved ones, and resources for frontline workers on where they can obtain mental health care.
