Doctor Shuts Down ‘Symmetry’ As Beauty Standard With Bizarre Celeb Photo Edits

A dermatologist from Idaho has shown internet users what celebrities would look like if their faces were perfectly symmetrical, an impossible ideal set by society.
In a TikTok video, Dr Dustin Portela unveiled to fans how stars such as Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Brad Pitt, and Denzel Washington would look with one side of their faces mirroring the other, and the results are pretty surprising.
“As somebody who does a lot of cosmetic work and focuses on facial aesthetics, I wanted to show you some examples of what celebrities would look like if their faces were perfectly symmetrical,” he explained in the video. “Even celebrities who we consider to be beautiful would look radically different if their faces were perfectly symmetrical.”
While Beyoncé’s symmetrical face seems similar to the original photo, Brad Pitt sports a boxier jaw. Denzel Washington, on the other hand, looks wider and rounder, and Kim Kardashian’s face is presented as squarer and more masculine.
Portela wanted to remind viewers that “nobody actually has a perfectly symmetrical face.”
“Don’t become self-conscious. Embrace who you are,” he concluded.
