Jim Carrey Takes Aim At Fox News’ Coronavirus Coverage With Outrageous Cartoon
Despite previously disclosing that he was done with creating politically-charged illustrations, Jim Carrey seemed to change his mind after taking in Fox News’ coronavirus coverage.
Confronting the network’s news angles, Carrey’s new caricature depicts Donald Trump—with a huge grin and wavy brows—driving a bus filled with germs towards a crosswalk, where a family wearing Fox News-branded blindfolds is seen walking in spite of a ‘Don’t Walk’ sign.
The husband has a T-shirt with the text, “I’d rather be Russian than Democrat,” printed on it, while the baby stroller is emblazoned with the word “Doomed.”
“When America needed masks, Fox ‘News’ gave them blindfolds,” Carrey wrote on his artwork.
The cable network has been widely criticized for downplaying the pandemic, which killed over 80,000 Americans.
Carrey has also released other artworks showing Trump’s leadership during the coronavirus pandemic. One drawing shows the president chugging down a bottle of detergent, while another pictures him sleeping soundly while holding his phone with pornographic content on the screen as the coronavirus takes over the country.
