Madonna Ridiculed For Sharing Video Of Son Dancing To Honor George Floyd

Madonna found herself in the middle of a controversy after she posted a video of her son David Banda danicing to Michael Jackson’s They Don’t Care About Us in honor of George Floyd.
Floyd was pinned to the ground and had unnecessarily died in the hands of a police officer, Derek Chauvin, which caused widespread outrage by people across the globe. Madonna, too, weighed in on the scandal by sharing a video of her son showing off some moves to Jackson’s song.
“Brutal murder travels around the world my son David dances to honor and pay tribute to George and his family and all acts of racism and discrimination that happen on a daily basis in America,” she captioned her video.
Unfortunately, her post was mocked by many social media users, who deemed it “insensitive.” Television writer Akilah Green thought Madonna’s video was “worse than the Pepsi ad,” referring to the 2017 Pepsi commercial that starred Kendall Jenner, who was depicted trying to stop a protest by offering a can of cola to the police.
Others responded to Madonna sarcastically, saying that the singer has “ended racism.”
