Court Drawings Of Three Other Former Cops Involved In George Floyd’s Demise

Three other former Minneapolis police officers were brought to court for their involvement in George Floyd’s death on Thursday. Kiernan Lane, Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao were charged with second-degree aiding and abetting felony murder and second-degree aiding and abetting manslaughter of Floyd, who was ruthlessly pinned down until his last breath on Memorial Day. The three were placed on US$1 million bails.
Illustrator Cedric Hohnstadt was present at the hearing to create court sketches of the former cops in face masks with their attorneys at the court hearing.
Derek Chauvin, the first former officer charged for Floyd’s murder, held his knee on Floyd’s neck for eight minutes and 46 seconds before the man eventually died. Chauvin was previously handed charges for third-degree murder and manslaughter, but they were since revised to second-degree murder charges on Wednesday.
Lane reportedly held Floyd’s legs down and Kueng allegedly gripped the deceased’s back, while Thao allegedly watched the other three with his hands in his pockets.
The former officers’ attorneys requested for a lighter bail sentence, justifying the case with the trio’s community ties and cooperation with the investigation. Lane, Kueng, and Thao will appear in court on 29 June again for their next hearing.
