Ivanka Trump’s Commencement Speech Gets Brutally Edited With Protest Footage

The hashtag ‘#ByeIvanka’ trended on Twitter after the filmmaking group Meidas Touch put a spin on the first daughter’s commencement speech that she had released on Twitter.
Ivanka Trump posted the commencement speech she had meant to give at Wichita State University but was canceled due to students’ outcry, The Guardian reported. Trump released it anyway, giving the team behind Meidas Touch the opportunity to put a twist on it.
Trump’s speech was merged with clips of the unrest sparked by the killing of George Floyd. A jarring scene saw a tear gas canister hitting a group of protesters, the same time when Trump said “tears.”
Ivanka Trump also mentioned, “In my own life, I have found that my greatest personal growth has arisen from times of discomfort and uncertainty.” Clips of her talking about challenges she had faced were contrasted with videos showing her dining at Mar-a-Lago with heads of state, and a statement that she and Jared Kushner made US$82 million last year.
“It’s time we say bye to Ivanka and all the Trump grifters in the White House. If you want to support the production of these videos, please consider a donation so we can continue to fight!” the filmmakers wrote.
