While many frown upon federal surveillance, they might think differently when free food from their favorite restaurants are thrown into the mix.
Confident that customers would ungrudgingly exchange a fraction of their privacy for a Whopper, Burger King Brazil has rolled out a campaign that rewards them with a free burger for staying at home—with proof collected by the King itself.
To ensure fans adhere to its request, the fast-food chain will monitor their geolocations and entice them to stay indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic by increasing the value of their prizes, which include snacks and vouchers, the longer they remain in their homes.
Users will have to install the Burger King app, which will let the restaurant track down their location data and finally discern how deserving customers are of the rewards.
