Stephen King Shows Off Idea For Horror Novel He Never Started On

Author Stephen King teased a never-used plot for a novel that could have been.
Titled I, Jason, the non-existent book is imagined by King to be written in the “first-person narrative,” telling the tale of Friday the 13th from the perspective of serial killer Jason Voorhees.
King’s idea sees Voorhees being killed over and over again at Camp Crystal Lake. “What a hellish, existential fate!” King described the concept in his tweet.
King explained that legal procedures for permissions to write the feature-length novel would be too arduous to take up. However, he urged production company Blumhouse to consider the opportunity to “tell Jason’s side of the story.”
Blumhouse is known for producing thriller and horror movies, such as Jordan Peele’s Get Out, David Gordon Green’s 2018 Halloween , and Leigh Whannell’s The Invisible Man.
The best novel idea I never wrote (and probably never will) is I JASON, the first-person narrative of Jason Voohees, and his hellish fate: killed over and over again at Camp Crystal Lake. What a hellish, existential fate!
