TV Sex Scenes To Star Blow-Up Dolls & Actors’ Real Partners As Body Doubles

As the coronavirus pandemic lingers on, Hollywood has found another way to continue filming without putting actors in high risk of contracting the virus.
The pandemic unrest has prompted people around the world to keep a safe distance between each other to curb the spread of the virus. Many media productions, unfortunately, shut down, forcing many to be out of work. However, one television show has managed to find a solution through this tough time.
US soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful has picked up blow-up dolls that have been lying around the set for 15 years to create intimate scenes between actors.
According to executive producer Bradley Bell, love scenes have been filmed skillfully so actors are depicted to look closer than they really are. Dolls are also used to film intimate moments to ensure cast members are practicing safe distancing at work.
“We’re dusting off the dolls and putting new wigs and makeup on them and they’ll be featured in love scenes,” Bell told Forbes in an interview.
They have also welcomed the real-life partners of the actors to step in as “love scene doubles” to reduce the amount of contact between the cast members on set.
“We’re limiting the number of people on set at any one time, and keeping the actors eight feet apart at all times— hich will be tricky, especially during love scenes,” Bell told the Hollywood Reporter.
Aside from blow-up dolls and real-life partners, Hollywood executives have also opted to employ CGI to recreate sex scenes.
