‘Greta Thunburger’ Veggie Burger, Described As ‘Full Of Hot Air’, Upsets Vegans

Vegans in Australian are not too happy with this food truck’s description of its vegan burger—the ‘Greta Thunburger’.
Lazy Gramps in Melbourne has unveiled its plant-based burger, and it is named after teen environmental activist Greta Thunberg. According to Uber Eats, the burger is “light on facts and high on carbon monoxide.”
“You ruined my meat!” it reads, in reference to Thunberg’s speech at the UN back in 2019 where she said “you have stolen my childhood with your empty words.”
“She may be full of hot air, light on facts and high on carbon monoxide but how deer you mock this little number,” described the eatery. The ‘Greta Thunburger’ is served with tomato, pickles, lettuce, hummus sauce, home-style falafel and “minimum carbon footprint.”
Vegans were not impressed at all, and according to Yahoo News, one person described it as “tone deaf at best, disgusting at worst.”
Other social media users accused the eatery of “belittling a child.” “If someone said all this about me I’d laugh but I always find the criticism of Thunberg difficult because she’s so young,” a user said. “Besides the offence and attempt at belittling a child, the burger doesn’t sound appealing,” another chimed in.
However, according to Lazy Gramps’ owver, William, the stunt was meant to be a “joke.” The description was mainly “aimed at mainstream media” which, according to Thunberg, “push division among people by pushing a certain narrative of us versus them.”
The ‘Greta Thunburger’ is the third most popular burger, and it is currently sold out.
It is a little ridiculous. Still, at least someone has taken a stand by launching a burger called the Greta Thunberg. Hasn't gone down well with some vegans apparently.
