Osama Bin Laden’s Cutout Was Present In The Stands During Sports Match

Soccer club Leeds United had to embarrassingly remove an Osama Bin Laden cardboard cutout from its stands at Elland Road after fans caught the former al-Qaeda leader among other cutouts of supporters.
The team offered fans the opportunity to present themselves in the form of cardboard cutouts at the stands at their stadium for a fee of £25 (US$31). However, this also gave supporters the liberty of choosing who could watch the match, and one apparent use of this freedom saw the likeness of Bin Laden among the crowd of cardboard standees.
While some might argue that the prank could have been photoshopped, it turned out that the cutout had actually been present during the sports match. Twitter user @AllLoveLeeds shared that it was his cutout that was next to the Bin Laden cardboard piece.
Comedian and Top Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness jokingly chimed in on Twitter, “Nothing surprises me anymore in 2020? Leeds United: hold my pint.”
The Yorkshire Evening Post confirms that the club will remove the Bin Laden imagery from its stands. Leeds will also make sure “checks are in place to ensure there are no more offensive images” in the audience before the Saturday’s Championship game against Fulham club.
