Rolling Stones Threatens To Sue Trump For Misappropriating Songs At Rallies

Rock band The Rolling Stones is threatening to take legal action against President Donald Trump for using its songs at his rallies, despite releasing a cease-and-desist directive over the band’s music use previously.
Trump’s campaign team played the band’s 1969 track, You Can’t Always Get What You Want, at the end of his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma earlier this month, per The New York Post.
According to a statement to Deadline, the band’s legal team teamed up with music rights organization BMI to put a stop to its music being used in Trump’s reelection campaign.
“If Donald Trump disregards the exclusion and persists then he would face a lawsuit for breaking the embargo and playing music that has not been licensed,” reads the statement, reposted by The Rolling Stones’ official Twitter account.
