David Beckham Recounts Moment He Fell For Wife Victoria In 21st Anniversary Post

The Beckhams, one of the world’s most beautiful celebrity couples, are both a treat and an inspiration to look at. The pair tied the knot of 4 July 1998 at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland, and despite witnessing numerous Hollywood breakups over the decades, are still staying by each other’s side after 21 years of marriage.
On the 21st anniversary of their nuptials, David Beckham took to Instagram to publish unseen visuals of Victoria during the Spice Girls era. In his sweet throwback post, the former professional soccer player reflected on the fateful moment “about 23 years ago,” when he set his eyes on his future life partner and his heart stopped in its tracks.
“I was sat in a room with [soccer coach and fellow former Manchester United player] Gary Neville, and the Spice Girls were on the TV,” he recounted fondly. “And I turned around to him and said, ‘Ohhhh, I like that one in the little black catsuit.’”
Beckham expressed his awe at how he’d wind up “celebrating 21 years of marriage” and have “four of the most beautiful and perfect kids” with Posh Spice.
“Thank you and happy anniversary,” he wrote to his other half. “I Love You.”
Victoria Beckham had also gushed about her love-at-first-sight encounter with the soccer legend to British Vogue magazine in 2017. In a touching letter to her 18-year-old self, the fashion designer penned, “On boyfriends and lasting love: learn more about football, especially the offside rule. And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge—although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy.”
She reminisced, “While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family. (He’s not even in the first team at this stage – you are the famous one). And he has a cute smile.”
“You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you,” Victoria Beckham continued. “He’s going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it.)”
For their 21st anniversary, Victoria Beckham also looked back on her longstanding relationship with her husband. “Happy anniversary @davidbeckham,” she wrote alongside heart emojis in the caption of a montage set to Elton John’s Something About the Way You Look Tonight. “I can’t believe it has been 21 years since we said ‘I do.’ Four children, four dogs, so much laughter, and I love you more each day.”
