Chris Evans Bestows ‘Captain America’ Shield On 6-Year-Old For Saving His Sister

Last week, six-year-old Bridger Walker from Wyoming went viral after he saved his four-year-old younger sister from being attacked by his dog, and his bravery has since been rewarded by Captain America himself.
Walker sustained injuries on his cheeks after protecting his sister from being pounced on by the German Shepherd mix. The incident resulted in him getting more than 90 stitches, and when the little boy was asked by his father why he had done what he did, Walker said, “If someone had to die, I thought it should be me.” Walker is currently recovering from the injuries at home.
Chris Evans, who played Captain America in the Marvel films, later went on a video call with Walker, who was adorably dressed in his own Captain America costume. The actor gave the boy some words of encouragement, as well as a Captain America shield for his heroic act.
“What you did was so brave and so selfless, your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. Your parents must be so proud of you. I’m going to track down your address and send you an authentic Captain America shield because, pal, you deserve it,” Evans told Walker in the video call.
Evans was not the only Avenger who was openly impressed by Walker’s actions. Mark Ruffalo, who played the Incredible Hulk, commended Walker in a comment, as well.
“Real courage is knowing what is right to do and doing it even when it might end up hurting you somehow. You are more of a man than many, many I have seen or known. With admiration, Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk/Professor),” he responded.
Anne Hathaway also joined in by praising Walker in her Instagram post. “I’m not an Avenger, but I know a superhero when I see one,” she wrote in a post with photos of Walker. “I can only hope I’m half as brave in my life as you are in yours, Bridger.”
