Lady Liberty Gets Illuminated By Lightning In Video That’ll Leave You Awestruck

A thunderstorm with heavy rain in New York City resulted in a show-stopping scene when lightning almost struck the Statue of Liberty.
The video taken during the severe thunderstorm went viral online, and social media users have dubbed it a “sign from God” due to the current political state in the US.
Michael Calabrese managed to capture the spectacular moment while onboard the Miss New York run by Statue Cruises. Calabrese told USA Today that he was in “the right place at the right time.” The clip, shot using his smartphone, was immediately shared among Twitter users and garnered over two million times.
“The best video I ever captured,” Calabrese tweeted. The clip has reminded many of a scene from the 1984 film Ghostbusters and a “sign from above.”
“I’m not saying this is Ghostbusters 2 But I’m not *not* saying it,” Dan Lamothe said. “All it’s missing is Ghostbusters sound track,” Amy Alkon tweeted. Todd Harrison instead, wrote, “If you don’t believe in signs from God then you aren’t paying attention.”
