North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is seen surrounded by army officers as they posed with commemorative pistols in a startling photo.
Kim gifted guns to the generals to mark the 67th anniversary of the Korean War’s end. The army officers, who pledged their lives to the leader and state, held their guns high in the photo.
According to the leader, the gift of guns, which symbolizes Kim’s “sacred Mount Paektu bloodline,” signals the “party’s great faith in the new generation of commanders who will lead North Korea's Juche revolution to its completion.”
KCNA also reported that Kim visited a cemetery where Korean War dead were buried. He laid a rose and bowed at the Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery.
The armed forces including Pak Jong Chon, the chief of the Korean People’s Army, gathered and decked in full uniform, according to state media images. You can view those photos
