The WHO Warns Coronavirus Cases Are Increasing Among Young People

The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of a rising amount of coronavirus infections between young people, causing a spike in cases for the virus worldwide.
Dr Hans Kluge, Europe regional director for the WHO, told the BBC that there has been “a higher proportion of new infections among young people” from reports provided by several health bodies.
The BBC shared that the rate of cases of COVID-19 in young people is climbing across the globe. In the past few weeks, the Netherlands saw higher infection rates in young people, while France pointed at a local outbreak between 18 to 25-year-olds.
Kluge advises young people to rethink their choices during the pandemic, as they can potentially harm them and those around them. “They have a responsibility towards themselves, their parents, grandparents, and their communities,” he added.
The WHO has also unveiled a course for risk assessment for mass gatherings to better understand the risk associated with transmission in various events.
