Facebook Boosts Accessibility With Resizable Fonts, Screen-Reading Alerts & More

Facebook has unveiled a series of new features to improve accessibility for all users.
The slew of new upgrades includes scalable font sizes, screen reader alerts, and contextual headings, and was added on the heels of the Americans with Disabilities Act’s 30th anniversary.
Scalable font sizes will make it easier for users with impaired vision to read text across a page. Those using screen readers can identify the page headings to navigate and understand the page’s layout.
There is also a list of keyboard shortcuts that can be viewed when users press Shift + ?, enabling a seamless experience across the platform.
The social media company has also integrated screen reader alerts, which will inform users when any action, like posting a comment or sending a message, was successfully submitted.
