James ‘Kamala’ Harris’ Death Has Internet Confused With Senator Kamala Harris

The wrestling world has lost one of its legends, James Harris—better known as by his ring name Kamala—who has died at the age of 70. The cause of death is still unclear; however, the WWE superstar suffered many health complications and had both his legs amputated due to diabetes, per The Washington Post.
When news of his passing first surfaced, some social media users were thrown for a loop, thinking it was about another Kamala Harris.
Harris, who made his debut in the wresting realm in 1984, shared the same name as Democratic Senator Kamala Harris. The latter was a presidential candidate for the 2020 election before dropping out in December 2019.
The wrestler’s death has caused a commotion on social media, with many writing how confused they were when the name “Kamala” appeared online. One Twitter user commented, “RIP Kamala; is not for Kamala Harris, but for a wrestler. Twitter really needs a ‘they’re not dead’ portion at the top so we don’t have near heart attacks when the trend is for someone else or other reasons.”
Another user commented, “RIP to this man but y’all scared me for a minute I thought Kamala Harris had died.”
