Ben & Jerry’s Reveals The Right Way Of Storing Its Ice Cream In The Freezer

Everybody loves a good ol’ pint of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. However, when you store the creamy goodness in the freezer and take it out the next time, you might find unpleasant chunky bits and ice crystals at the top.
Well, it turns out that this is caused by freezer burn from the way you’ve been storing the ice cream. Ben & Jerry’s has revealed that the right way to keep the ice cream is by—surprise, surprise—turning the tub upside down.
“Spare yourself from experiencing this culinary catastrophe: store your pint upside down somewhere deep in the freezer (never in the door),” the company explains on its website.
The ice cream company also encourages consumers to “eat the whole pint” to avoid the trouble once and for all. It details that “the melted ice cream [will] drip onto the lid where it has less chance of ruining the still-cold portion.”
Ben & Jerry’s also recommends that pints are left outside for a few minutes to soften, and not chucked into the microwave, as the intense heat can affect the ice cream’s “delicate structure.”
