Cardi B is the cover star of ELLE magazine’s September issue.

Photographed by Steven Klein, the rapper sent fans into a frenzy as she appeared to be dripping in diamonds while showcasing her piercings on the magazine.

Cardi B wore a crystal wig from Mordekai by Ken Borochow, while her mauve makeup look was done by Erika La’Pearl. She posed for the camera and showed off her two-toned black-and-white manicure, as well as the four diamond piercings down her chest she got during quarantine.

Cardi B said this ELLE cover shoot was her “favorite” as she got to show her her labret piercing on her bottom lip. “The fact that they love my labret piercing makes it my fav!” she wrote in an Instagram post.

The accompanying photoshoot was equally striking, as Cardi B wore a Swarovski crystal veil while rocking a black cropped wig. The rapper completed the look with a sequinned Balenciaga top that flaunted her cleavage.



Another look seemed to be inspired by an armored knight as she wore a silver hood with gold diamond-shaped trinkets carefully framing her face.

Her first ELLE cover received tons of praise from fans and celebrities. “I am so proud of you,” actress Taraji P. Henson wrote while Megan Thee Stallion left heart-eye emojis on the comments section.

In recent weeks, @iamcardib has put out forceful statements about the wrongful death of #BreonnaTaylor, the 26 year-old Black EMT who was fatally shot by police in her home in Louisville, KY. The harrowing account reminded Cardi of when her own cousin was murdered: “I remember everybody waking up at 3 a.m. and driving all the way to New Jersey, to the hospital. And through all that driving, you’re crying and scared.” She's enraged that the officers who murdered Taylor—Jon Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove—have not been arrested. "That is so insane to me,” she says. “What they did to her is really fucked up. What’s the excuse? Why is the cop not in jail? Wasn’t what he did a crime? It’s a crime! And no apology. Nothing.
