Kanye West’s Accessory Could Offer ‘2020 Vision,’ Except No One Knows What It Is

Along with photos of footwear prototypes described by fans as “fish bones” and “T-rex heads,” Kanye West recently previewed images of a new face accessory that has everyone confused.
The rapper, YEEZY founder, and presidential hopeful teased the sunglasses-slash-headband things on Twitter, and photos show a model flaunting them in two thicknesses as well as wooden brown and pale colorways.
West deliberately remained vague in his posts, simply captioning them with the see-no-evil and speak-no-evil monkey emojis.
Outlander Magazine, however, described the accessory as, “Unreleased YEEZY sunglasses.”
To many, the designs appear more like a set of headbands. “Me when I was seven and put my mom’s headbands on my eyes and pretended to be Cyclops from X-Men,” one Twitter user joked. Some poked fun at West’s references to a “#2020VISION” following his announcement to run for president.
Others noted that Geordi La Forge of Star Trek sported a similar-looking device that helped the blind character see.
In the real world, though, putting these on could bring back debates about wearing sunglasses indoors, and even amplify the tension, because Kanye even see in them?
