Melania Trump’s Revamped White House Rose Garden Gets Likened To A ‘Cemetery’

Melania Trump unveiled the renovations to the White House Rose Garden last Saturday, but they did not sit well with social media users.
Trump faced strong backlash on Twitter, as before-and-after photos of the garden showed a huge difference from colorful blooms to paved-back lawns and shrubbery. Many took to Twitter to voice out their horror after seeing the new Rose Garden, pointing out the stark difference from color and blooms to the minimalist design.
Many Twitter users were unhappy and accused Trump of erasing the influence of former inhabitants of the White House. Others compared the newly renovated Rose Garden to a “cemetery” and a “parking lot” after the removal of the historic cherry trees planted by Jackie Kennedy in 1960s.
“If @FLOTUS was shooting for a cemetery look in the Rose Garden, she nailed it,” a Twitter user joked. “Melania killed the cherry trees,” Mia Farrow tweeted.
Many internet users also compared her to French ruler Marie Antoinette due to her possibly ill timing in spending lavishly at the garden while many American citizens are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

I normally think Melania has impeccable taste - but removing Jackie O’s rose garden and all the beautiful flowers and color for whatever reason I find really upsetting not to mention not nearly as beautiful. Not everything historical is meant to be redone :(
